SF Model Yacht Club, Spreckels Lake, Golden Gate Park

San Francisco Model Yacht Club is located in Golden Gate Park at the 36th Avenue and Fulton Street entrance. There they have a clubhouse and a lake, both of which are devoted to model yachting.

Views of San Francisco and Marin Headlands

The Marin Headlands is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area—the largest urban park in the U.S. and one of the largest in the world. Point Bonita Lighthouse, several historic military sites, a Nike Missile site, museums, camp grounds, beaches and hiking trails can be visited and explored within the Marin Headlands.

Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco


The Palace of Fine Arts was built in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition on land originally belonging to the Presidio. Today the site, which belongs to the City of San Francisco, features a classical Roman rotunda with curved colonnades in an idyllic park setting.

Crissy Field - On a Warm October Day in San Francisco

Now a large park in San Francisco, Crissy Field was originally an airfield part of the United States' Presidio Army Base. Under the Base Closure Act, in the 1990s the Presidio ceased all military operations and the base became part of the federal Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
